KINGSTON UPON THAMES ASSOCIATION FOR THE BLIND

Will you be a Volunteer?

The Kingston upon Thames Association for the Blind would love to hear from anyone interested in becoming one of their volunteers for their Home Visiting Scheme.

The Home Visiting Scheme is simple in concept. After training, (one evening) volunteers visit a blind or partially sighted person in their  home either on a regular basis or for one off visits. The visits entail helping with tasks that a partially sighted person may find difficult, reading mail, dealing with bills, writing letters, perhaps a walk to the local shops or maybe just a cup of tea and a chat to ease the loneliness and isolation.

Who can be a volunteer? Anyone. All the Association asks is the commitment to visit a client once a week on a regular basis. If any church member is interested, please contact Kim Jones the Association's Volunteer Co-ordinator on 0208 977 0341 for further details and an information pack.
